1) Decatur: Makan, offering Asian comfort food, is now open to the public inside the Courtyard Decatur Downtown Hotel at 130 Clairemont Avenue. From executive chef/co-owner George Yu, the restaurant's menu — which arrives in the form of newspaper — features starters like wontons, pork belly buns, and seafood pancakes; entrees such as roasted pork ramyun, grilled steak, seafood stew, and spicy lamb; and desserts like sesame balls, Asian birthday cake, and honeysuckle gelato. Take a look at the full menu right here.
2) Westside: At 840 Marietta Street, Amelie's French Bakery is now serving loads of pastries and coffee, 24 hours a day. The first Atlanta location of the small Charlotte-based chain uses French and local ingredients in pastries and sandwiches, and along with Magnolia Coffee, a selection from Smyrna's Rev is available. It's another addition to the neighborhood's growing dining and drinking scene.
