The King of Pops mural at North Avenue and North Highland has been painted over, first reported by Restaurants ATL. The vibrant wall of pops had served as a beacon of frozen treats since the early days of one of Atlanta's original street food successes. Creative Loafing has posted a follow-up story on the mural take-down, noting that the landmark was removed by the owner of the building, Jeff Vantosh, who claims he was cited by code enforcement.
