The Watershed Restaurant Is Relocating

The Watershed Restaurant, which is owned by Indigo Girls' Emily Saliers, has announced its plans to close and relocate according to Besha Rodell, the dining editor and critic of Creative Loafing. Rodell says staff members were informed on Sunday that the restaurant will close after dinner service on Saturday. In a subsequent press release, Saliers said:

While it was not an easy decision to leave Decatur, we are unable to offer our guests these added amenities in our current location. We are deeply grateful to the Decatur community for 13 years of support. Watershed's Decatur location will be closing after dinner on Saturday evening August 6th so that the owners can begin working on the new restaurant which they anticipate opening by the end of the year.
The press release also details a few new features of the new restaurant, which will include "a vibrant bar, spacious dining room, large outdoor patio, and ample parking." It does not say whether Chef Joe Truex will relocate with the restaurant although Rodell says he "will remain at the kitchen's helm when Watershed reopens."
