Michael Bologna At The James Beard House, Crystal Boots, And More

WOODSTOCK: Chef Michael Bologna, of Vingenzo's, as been asked to cook at the James Beard House in New York on December 1st. During the winter months, Bologna will feature the dishes he cooks at The Bear House in the restaurant. Look for asiago-encrusted baby artichokes, hand-crafted burrata, osso buco-filled tortelli and his signature dessert, Semplicemente in Bianco e Nero, with its Bufala Mozzarella, chocolate mirror glaze and chestnut honey balsamic strawberries. 

BUCKHEAD: The 5th Annual Crystal Boots and Silver Saddles Premier Western Gala will take place on October 14 at Mason Murer Fine Art to benefit Ovarian Cancer Research. Participating chefs include Chris Hall of Local Three, Linton Hopkins of Holeman & Finch, Kevin Rathbun of Rathbun’s, Ryan Smith of Empire State South, Zeb Stevenson of Livingston Restaurant + Bar (Restaurant Chair for the event), and Jay Swift of 4th & Swift. Tickets are $100 and available here.

WESTSIDE: Hop City is launching "growlettes," eco-friendly 32 fl. oz glass jugs of beer available for to-go purchase. The price starts at $10 and can go as high as $25. The mini-growlers will be available for purchase starting on September 17th.

ATLANTIC STATION: 50+ Professional and Backyard Teams from the south will go to battle for $10,000 in cash prizes, trophies and bragging rights at the 3rd Annual Atlanta BAR-B-Q Festival, which will take place at Atlantic Station September 30th through Saturday, October 1st. MIDTOWN: The Atlanta Food & Wine Festival has announced the dates for its second annual festival. The festival will be held on May 11th through 13th 2012 and the organizers promise this year "will be even more unforgettable."
