Mirko Pasta, A New Place from Micah Willix, And More

1) Toco Hillls/Buckhead/More: Mirko Pasta, an Italian restaurant chain based out of Athens is rapidly expanding all over Atlanta with locations under construction to open in Buckhead and Toco Hills. Owner Mirko Di Giacomantonio, who hails from Tortoreto, Italy, had a hand in helping open Figo. Look for various types of pasta, secondi such as Tuscan Seafood Stew and a slew of classic Italian desserts. [PLYWOOD]

2) Buckhead: Chef Micah Willix, formerly the chef at Ecco, will open a new restaurant called Latitude this November according to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. The new concept will replace The Grape. [PLYWOOD]

3) Midtown: Takorea, the new taqueria from the owners of Hankook, is open and serving lunch according to its website. Dinner service is supposed to start in late September. [POST-PLYWOOD]

4) Midtown: What Now Atlanta reports that One Group, the people behind STK Steakhouse, have another project in the works called Cucina Asellina. The restaurant will serve “light Italian” fare (items likes flat breads, pizzas and pastas)" and is slated to open after STK (scheduled for November). This is the first location for this concept. 5) Brookhaven: The Reynolds Group has announced that CineBistro will open to the public this Friday. The concept bills itself as a place to enjoy first-run and independent movies paired with "chef-driven cuisine, fine wines, and Hollywood-inspired cocktails." [POST-PLYWOOD]

6) Inman Park: Barcelona restaurant and Wine Bar, a Spanish concept based in Connecticut, has its sights set on Atlanta. The restaurant's website says Atlanta can expect to be eating Spanish tapas in the Fall. [PLYWOOD]
