The January issue of Southern Living lists three Atlanta bakeries among the best in the South, and also includes a recipe from chef Hugh Acheson, reports The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Food editor and restaurant critic for Atlanta Magazine, Bill Addison, compiled the bakery list for S.L., including nods to cake at Alpine Bakery & Trattoria, bread and pastries at H&F Bread Co. and, well, pie at Pie Shop. Acheson's recipe for mac and cheese is featured in the issue's Southern classics round-up and will be available at Empire State South this Saturday. [AJC]
