In an odd week for the review scene, none of the major critics—Besha Rodell, John Kessler, or Bill Addison—posted a formal restaurant review. Creative Loafing's editor-in-chief Eric Celeste filled in for Rodell with a plead for midtown and John Kessler did get the week started off with a conversational bang. Otherwise, there was a smattering of reviews in the Elsewhere and the Blogs.

At The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Jon Watson awards Octopus Bar three stars and Bob Townsend takes a First Look at Slate Table and Tap in Roswell. Brad Kaplan, of Creative Loafing, visits Bell Street Burritos on the westside.

Jimmy at Eat It, Atlanta sums up his dining in January and goes to Octopus Bar. ATL Food Snob attends the Black Tie Secret Supper and visits Lee's Bakery for the "best banh mi in town."
