1) Midtown: Midtown Promenade's MetroFresh is expanding both its interior and exterior by taking over the shuttered Jersey Mike's shop next door. Plans for the late November or early December renovation include knocking down the wall between the shops, doubling the size of the kitchen, and improving the outdoor patio. The restaurant will soon be open for weekend breakfast as well. [Patch]
2) Downtown: Iconic restaurant Gladys Knight's Chicken and Waffles submitted a building permit application earlier this month. The eatery's plan is to undergo a $100,000 expansion and remodel. [WNA]
3) Johns Creek/Smyrna Two J. Christopher's restaurants were purchased by Florida-based First Watch Restaurants Inc., which will soon convert the Atlanta eateries into First Watch cafes. The restaurant group has the option to purchase franchise rights and wants to open more than 20 First Watch locations in Atlanta in the upcoming years. [ABC]
