The official sign is now up for Modern Restaurant + Bar in Buckhead. This contemporary American restaurant on Piedmont Road first posted a "Coming Soon" banner over a year ago, and today, details were finally released.
With a focus on "fresh seafood and regional, seasonal produce," Modern will serve brunch, lunch and dinner, as well as five-to-seven-course tasting menus. Chef Mark Alba leads the kitchen with experience from Canoe, Parish, Eno, and Spice. His menu items include roasted beet salad, sesame bluefin tuna tataki, Hudson Valley foie gras, garlic and rosemary loin of lamb, mixed seafood risotto, and sous vide pork belly.
The bar features 120 types of wine, 30 draft and bottled beers, and cocktails such as Lunch at Midnight—Van Gogh Blue, BitterEnd, black plum, agave, mint, and lime. A main dining area, bar and three private dining rooms comprise the 12,000-square-foot space, including a café, complete with an open-air bazaar of sorts, a laid-back lounge, and a covered patio. The decor relies on textures, sleek lighting and geometric accents. There's a full wall of retractable floor-to-ceiling windows leading to the patio.
Valet parking will be available; plus Modern will validate Tower Walk garage parking with purchase. [EaterWire]
