Hugh Acheson Talks Top Chef, Eater Readers, and the Importance of Eating Local

Season ten of Top Chef, filmed in Seattle, premieres next week. Unibrow rocker and snarky judge/cheftestapant Hugh Acheson talked to Seattle Weekly about what viewers can expect. Below, excerpts.

On the show's location: "Though rumors get spread, and people start chatting, the location is really not known to most of the viewers, just readers of Eater and relentless followers of the food world." On being in a detective movie with fellow judges Padma Lakshmi and Tom Colicchio: "I would play the evil, well dressed, mysterious, and brooding guy with one eyebrow" (Padma would be a nurse). On getting political on the show: "I think we are making America aware of the concepts of great food cooked from local ingredients. That's the first step in improving our food culture."
