These Drinks Were Created Just for Eater Cocktail Week

Eater Cocktail Week is not just about content, y'all. In honor of this super special time in all of our lives, Atlanta restaurants have stepped up and taken it upon themselves to create delightful alcohol-heavy concoctions sure to amuse the palate (provided that the owner of said palate is over the age of 21). Below, find a list cocktails created especially for Eater readers and available starting today. Tweet pictures to @EaterAtlanta or using the hashtag #atlcocktailweek!

Pura Vida: Suppressor #656: The Greater Flamingo, Regan's Orange Bitters, Alvear Fino sherry, Benedictine, Fidencio Classico Mezcal, Luxardo Maraschino Liqueur, Cristal Liquor de Aguardiente, saffron essential oil. Bartender Brad Tollenson says, "The name originates from the largest species of flamingo, indigenous to Andalusia, Spain, which is where Alvear Fino sherry is produced and is the namesake of Flamenco music. This drink has notes of green apples, orange rind, smoked nuts, cardamom, anise, and saffron. It's based on the classic Chrysanthemum Cocktail."

Old Fourth Ward
? Joystick Gamebar: Shady Pines, Dolin dry vermouth, St. George Terroir gin, Mata Hari absinthe, absinthe-rosemary rim. About the cocktail, Joystick owner Brandon Ley says, "We decided to go a bit against the grain. Most fall cocktails tend to be heavier and packed with bold flavors (that is certainly true about our current menu), so for this one, we wanted to go with something more delicate. It's almost a martini in reverse. It's very light but with whispers of evergreen and botanicals."
? Ammazza: The Tarocco Spice, Tru Organic Vanilla Vodka, Pür Blood Orange Liqueur (oranges, apricots, cinnamon, and cloves), fresh lemon juice, basil, mint, agave nectar.

The restaurant's "booze hound," Kevin Ryan says that the drink is "a reverse bomb, i.e. a glass of liquor served with a shot of beer— or, in this case, cider. It's a bourbon drink, and the cider really mellows it out. It tastes like a strong cider, but is very approachable."

Sandy Springs
? Cibo e Beve: Brom's Brew, Icabod Pumpkin Ale, house-infused pecan whiskey, butternut squash ginger-style beer, candied pecans.
