The BATON dinners at Gato Bizco may have been suspended, but the restaurant has something new in the works. Starting today, from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. every Monday and Tuesday, patrons can get a la carte dinner offerings at the Candler Park eatery, which was previously only open Wednesday through Sunday and just served breakfast and lunch. The soft opening will last two weeks— that means December 10, 11, 17, and 18— and then Gato Arigato will go on a winter break before returning to serve every Monday and Tuesday evening from January 7.
All dishes for the soft opening will be priced under $10. The a la carte meal is walk-in only and BYOB, and it will be cooked by Gato's owner, Nicholas Stinson and chef Allen Suh, who came to the restaurant this fall after working at One Flew South and, briefly, Heirloom Market BBQ. Look for ramen, sea bream, yuzu kosho with Nebraska pork belly, and duck egg chawan mushi on the menu.
