The Optimist—the new West Midtown seafood spot by Chef Ford Fry of JCT Kitchen fame—will open “on or around May 1,” according to a press release. The restaurant will focus on sustainable seafood prepared in a wood-burning oven. Fry will also open a more casual adjacent “fish camp” style eatery called Oyster Bar at The Optimist, featuring a patio, live music and of course, an oyster bar. [EaterWire]
