Tomorrow's News Today learns that the Buckhead location of Shane's Rib Shack didn't close a few weeks ago for renovations and roof repairs as announced. They closed to make way for The Village Tap, a new operation from the people behind 5 Paces Inn. Apparently, the deal has been in the works for the better part of a year, and TNT comments that "Given the other superior options, Shane's closure is of little surprise."
Word on the street is construction on the new restaurant and bar will begin in the next month and when it reopens, it will serve Southern-influenced cuisine. Given that the owners have owned Buckhead area establishments for over 50 years, it seems like a good acquisition for the area. Stay tuned for more as construction moves forward.
