Reviews for Swit Bakery, Local Republic, and More

Brad Kaplan at Creative Loafing has a new favorite doughnut in the city and its from Swit Bakery. The chocolate ganache doughnut is made with brioche dough, has chocolate sprinkles, and gives other, more famous Atlanta pastries a run for their money.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution's Jon Watson waxes poetic about burgers and commends the craft beer menu at Lawrenceville's Local Republic. The restaurant is a Southern-slash-international gastropub that serves updated family recipes like pimiento cheese, bacon, and jalapeno crostinis and crawfish sliders. Watson gives it two stars, which means its worth checking out if you're in the neighborhood but doesn't merit a solo trip OTP.

THE ELSEWHERE AND THE BLOGS: The AJC and ATL Food Snob both review Little Alley Steak, Hunter from Hunter's Travel Tales thinks South City Kitchen has the best fried chicken ever, Atlanta Restaurant Blog likes the lamb and the cocktails and the patio at Basil's, RED at Philips Arena is taken on by Atlanta INtown, and Marietta Patch says Canvas is convenient and welcoming.
