Super Pan Latino Sandwich Shop permanently closed its location at Pura Vida in the Highlands today. Chef Hector Santiago, also of Pura Vida and Top Chef fame is looking for investors to find the restaurant a new location with better foot traffic.
A note on the shop's Facebook page this morning reads, "While Super Pan has received great press and reviews and has wonderful loyal customers, the foot traffic in the area is not enough to support the high labor, high food cost concept in its current location." Santiago hopes to find a new space "where Super Pan can be a full-blown Latino bakery and coffee shop as well as a sandwich shop." Fans of the store's food will be happy to know that the pork belly and tofu buns will be available at the adjacent Pura Vida and the Torta de Pollo can be found in burrito form at El Burro Pollo on Saturdays.
