A family-owned bakery has dreamt of having a real storefront for over three years and is enlisting the help of the community to finally make it happen. Formerly selling as Little Red Hen Bakeshop in farmers markets across the city, this restaurant will open as Revolution Doughnuts in a few weeks but is asking for support from fans via a new Kickstarter campaign to ensure that the brick-and-mortar space is perfect.
The project will only come to be if they raise $10,000 through the site by Monday, May 28. As of the time of writing, they have about $7,000 to go in 26 days. The money will go toward the build-out of the espresso bar, retail counter, and dining bar in the bakery next to Ale Yeah! at 908 West College Avenue in Decatur.
Backers can pledge any amount of money from a dollar up, and will be rewarded with doughnuts and more for every pledge more than $10. A Hamilton gets donors six doughnuts at a beverage once the store starts service. Backers who pledge $50 or more receive a baker's dozen each of doughnuts and coffee plus a Revolution Doughnuts mug. A donation of more than $250 is rewarded with a birthday party/doughnut dipping party for up to 11 kids.
Currently, Revolution Doughnuts' baked goods can be found at farmers markets around the Atlanta area. Follow them on Facebook for updates.
