Richard Blais's new venture The Spence opens this Saturday at 75 5th Street. The menu, which will change daily, offers reinvented American classics and house-bottled cocktails. At the restaurant's Atlanta Food & Wine Festival preview dinner, courses included ramen noodles served with crispy pork and a duck egg and dry aged roast beef with celery root and pickled walnut.
The Top Chef All-Stars winner, most recently of HD1 and FLIP Burger will take a more hands-on approach to The Spence than for his fast-casual concepts, since he'll be in the kitchen instead of in a consulting role. Since their Open Table account won't be up and running until Monday, the restaurant is accepting weekend reservations for the first 180 people who retweet this message from their Twitter account and include an email address.
