It's a pleasure to announce a new member of the Eater universe. Please say hello to Eater Charleston! It's about time we got our news-hungry, gossipmongering claws into our fair sister city to the east, home to food world darling Sean Brock and some of the region's best barbecue and Lowcountry Southern cuisine.
It joins the growing family of Eater websites — Eater National, New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Portland, Miami, Chicago, Austin, Washington, DC, Seattle, Houston, Dallas, Atlanta, New Orleans, Boston, Eater Philly, Eater Vegas and Eater Denver.
Eater Charleston is headed by Angel Powell, a writer, publicist, and former TV producer. Chef John Currence (City Grocery, Oxford) recently said of Charleston: "What is happening in Charleston at this very moment is profound and important." And Eater Charleston will, of course, serve as the go-to site for the extensive coverage of the restaurant, nightlife, and bar scene for which Eater is known.
