MIDTOWN – RA Sushi is serving a watermelon-kiwi special throughout the month of June. Its watermelon kiwi shrimp features oranges and lychee in addition to the obvious, and its melon-kiwi-tini is made with Monin watermelon, Svedka Citron, Shochu and a splash of citrus soda, muddled and garnished with a slice of watermelon and one of kiwi. The pairing costs $18. [EaterWire]
BUCKHEAD – Gordon Biersch rolled out a new limited-edition 750 ml “Big Beer” program. The Imperial Pilsner Brau (IPB) 750ml “big bottle” is the first in a series of five beers to be released throughout 2012, each of which will have a production of t 4,000 cases or less. The 6.5 percent alcohol Imperial Pilsner Brau is said to emphasize the “noble hops” from central Europe. It is unfiltered and naturally carbonated.
SANDY SPRINGS – Food 101 is getting creative with its new weeknight drink specials. There’s “Sustainable Sips Mondays,” which focuses on cocktails made with organic liquors and served for $6; “Twiggy Tuesdays” with Skinny Girl margaritas and low-cal cosmos selling for $6; and Three’s Company Thursdays, featuring martinis, mojitos and margaritas for $5 each. If you’re wondering what happened to Wednesday, the marketing team must have gotten a bit lazy, as we’ve all heard about Wine Down Wednesdays before. [EaterWire]
