Kevin Gillespie Recs Bocado, Spoon, and More in His Guide to Atlanta Dining

Top Chef Season 6 finalist Kevin Gillespie shares his favorite spots in the city with the crew at Serious Eats. The Woodfire Grill executive chef, like everyone else in Atlanta, prefers Antico for pizza, Octane for coffee, and the famous Bocado burger over other versions. He also recs the medio dia at fellow Top Chef contenstant Hector Santiago's sandwich shop, Super Pan; cocktail bar H. Harper Station, where food is cooked by his former sous chef; and Morelli's, where Gillespie sometimes gets behind the counter himself to make concoctions like Fig Newton ice cream.

Thai restaurant Spoon, which he claims has the best takeout, and the falafel at Pita Palace make his list as well. Thumbs Up takes the coveted favorite breakfast spot, but the top biscuit goes to Home Grown. And Gillespie promises that The Highlander has more going for it than just its name: the dive bar's tater tots are on point too.
