Food Truck Tuesdays Get the Green Light in Smyrna

The first Smyrna Food Truck Tuesday is today from 6 to 9 p.m. in Taylor-Brawner Park. The usual suspects— Ibiza Bites, Yumbii, Happy Belly, et al— will all be in attendance at the inaugural event. There will also be live music to keep diners, who are encouraged to walk because parking is limited, entertained.

Food Truck Tuesdays came about in Smyrna when resident Bettie Cagle approached Jennifer Bennett, the city's community relations director, about starting the event. Cagle is the organizer of Virginia Highland's Food Truck Wednesdays and recognized the opportunity to start one in her own part of town. “The Smyrna one could easily be the best food truck location in the metro area,” Bennett told Smyrna Patch.
