Patrons of Yard House in Atlantic Station may have noticed the large warning sign at the front of the restaurant recently. It reads: "Warning. Chemicals known to the state of Georgia to cause cancer or birth defects or other reproductive harm may be present in food or beverages sold or served here." Cancer? Since when did dining out become so risky?
A call to the front-of-house manager Jason Perry explains the sign refers to the mercury in swordfish, which may lead to cancer if ingested in massive quantities. "It's like if you ate 19 pounds of Splenda in one sitting," Perry clarified.
