Local coffee roasters Batdorf & Bronson took on St. Louis's Kaldi's Coffee in a battle of the beans last night. Atlanta came out on top, but, of course, everyone is a winner, because the real point of the competition was to draw attention to the collabrewation, a blend of Batdorf's Guatemala Finca El Valle and Kaldi’s San Pedro La Laguna, that the two businesses have created. The goal, according to Batdorf's Jason Dominy was to unite two local roasters in a "unified charge against the giants" of the industry and to "share the beauty that is specialty coffee." [EaterWire]
