Welcome to Front & Center, a series highlighting front of the house professionals in Atlanta restaurants. Right now, Savory Exposure's Broderick Smylie writes about Arianne Fielder, mixologist and bar manager at Southern Art & Bourbon Bar:
In the past three years of writing my blog Savory Exposure I've had an opportunity to meet and become friends with many of the amazing people who work in the Atlanta hospitality industry. Some I've met in person at restaurants or events, and many I've struck up a conversation with online as I'm pretty obsessed with Twitter. I first "met" Arianne during the madness that is the Taste of Atlanta mixology competition, she's tall, blonde, with a smile the size of Texas and stood out among the other bartenders in the tent. I didn't get a chance to talk to her much that day but we made an acquaintence online and since then I've followed her on twitter. Tweeting as @ArianneBar, she's constantly updating her followers on the next libation she's dreaming up, smoking peaches for a bourbon infusion, meeting a distiller she's fond of (we're both big fans of St. George Spirits) or battling it out bar competitions around the city. When speaking with her about an idea I had to feature cocktails on the blog, she jumped at the chance and she, as well as her employer Southern Art & Bourbon Bar, rolled out the red carpet. She's definitely one to watch, and of course, grab a cocktail with.
