The last chance to try Moses Archuleta's BATON Supper Series will be September 17 and 18 at Gato Bizco in Candler Park. Reservations can only be made through email, and will be a ten-course "greatest hits" meal, featuring The Spence's James Ellington, Allen Suh of One Flew South and Heirloom Market BBQ, Gato Bizco's Nicholas Stinson, STG Trattoria's Adam Waller, and Taria Camerino of Sugar-Coated Radical.
It's the end of BATON as Atlanta has come to recognize it, but that doesn't mean it's gone forever. "We're going to stop doing it as we've done it thus far," Archuleta's wife Bryson Tedford says. "You do something for a year and you get a pretty good idea of how it's going to run. We're going to conclude it in this incarnation [this fall]. We're thinking about what would be a new twist, and also waiting to see if anything makes itself known. You don't want to force anything."
The website calls the September pop-up event "a celebration of what may be." Previous dinners have been cooked by Christina Tosi of Momofuku Milk Bar and Ivan Raven's Ivan Orkin. Prices have ranged from $40 to $85 a head, and only cash will be accepted. Email info@baton-limited.com to make reservations.
