DECATUR— The Great Decatur Grilled Cheese Off comes to Brick Store Pub Monday, September 11. The five-course grilled cheese dinner with five beer pairings starts at 6 p.m. and includes sandwiches from Brick Store, Cakes & Ale, H. Harper Station, Empire State South, and Victory Sandwich Bar. Tickets are $55, and all proceeds go to SkaterAid.
MIDTOWN— Chef Josh Carden has been promoted to chef de cuisine at Cucina Asellina. He now runs the entire kitchen, hand rolls the pasta, and creates the daily specials.
ALPHARETTA— Wine milkshakes are now available at The Counter on Mansell Road. The three flavors are Dulce, which is vanilla ice cream with the customer's choice of wine, Chocovine, a red wine, dark chocolate, dutch cream, and vanilla ice cream shake, and Pinot Noir, which has the wine, cherries, and both chocolate and vanilla ice cream.
AWARDSWIRE— Kevin Rathbun, The Brickery, and Honeysuckle Gelato have all been named winners for a good cause. The Legendary House Caesar Burger at the Brickery took home top honors in the Camp Twin Lakes Food Fight challenge, Kevin Rathbun won 4,000 dollars for the Atlanta Community Food Bank in Verizon Wireless and Modern Luxury's 4G for Charity contest, and Honeysuckle Gelato came in first in DailyCandy's Start Small, Go Big competition.
