Shaun Doty's second chicken restaurant—opening in Atlantic Station in the spring of 2013—will be named Chick-a-Biddy. His first chicken restaurant, Bantam & Biddy, is scheduled to open in Ansley Mall in early October.
"I personally like simple, healthy food options and I eat a lot of chicken," he said. "There are few options out there offering simple, eco-friendly and affordable dining options. This is where I see an opportunity."
When asked why open two similar restaurants so close to each other, Doty said: "I consider them amenities to their respective neighborhoods. Atlantic Station has a tremendous amount of visitors for the myriad of different services, events and stores that they offer, and we will be a part of the mix. Ansley is in the heart of Midtown and Ansley shopping center provides a service to that community. I would love to be each neighborhood's go-to place for local, organic dining." Sounds like a roundabout way of saying he wants to plaster the city with chicken places before anyone else does.
