VININGS — The first Vinings Restaurant Week will be Sept. 23 through Sept. 29. Sixteen restaurant, including Canoe, Social Vinings, South City Kitchen Vinings, C&S Seafood & Oyster Bar and The Vinings Fish Company, will offer prix fixed meals for $15, $25 or $35, depending on the restaurant. DECATUR — No. 246 has partnered with neighbors Leon's Full Service and The Brick Store Pub for a "How 'Bout Them Apples?" festival September 23 from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. Chef Drew Belline of No. 246 will roast a pig, and Chef Eric Ottensmeyer of Leon's Full Service is preparing the side dishes, including grilled radicchio, apple slaw and roasted potatoes. There will be apple hot dogs, caramel apples, apple upside down cake, apple-powdered kettle corn and apple candies. Expect cider punch, as well as cider tasting, and an "apple education table" with Georgia farmers featuring their apple varieties; plus bobbing for apples, face painting and balloon animals.
