Korean-Southern Diner Sobban Opens Today in Decatur

Sobban soft opens today at 11:30 a.m. The restaurant is serving a limited menu this week but will be open for lunch and dinner Tuesday through Saturday at 1788 Clairmont Road in Decatur. It replaces Kitsch'n 155.

Sobban, which means a small wooden table reserved for humble meals, is the second restaurant from the team behind Heirloom Market BBQ, chefs Jiyeon Lee and Cody Taylor. Lee has taken the lead in the kitchen with the new spot, a Korean-Southern diner serving dishes like knife-cut noodles, sweet chili salt-and-pepper shrimp, smoked pork belly bo ssam, housemade dumplings, kimchi pancakes, pickled lotus root salad, and more (see: here and here). The restaurant will have a late-night menu offered from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. on Friday and Saturday nights; on there, find items like Korean-style "college" ramen.

Update: The restaurant has closed to work out some kinks and will reopen for dinner tomorrow, on Wednesday, October 2.
