At Least the New Atlanta Braves Stadium Will Be Close to Heirloom Market BBQ

New, 2 comments

The Braves organization announced yesterday that it will move its stadium from Downtown Atlanta, the neighborhood its been in since 1966, to Cobb County, just off the intersection of I-75 and I-285. This news has been met with all kinds of reactions from ITP and OTP fans (or non-fans who are just worried about changing traffic patterns and what this means for the city), but one distinct plus is emerging: close proximity to Heirloom Market BBQ.

Says SB Nation, "The state's best barbecue joint, Heirloom Market, is a two-minute walk away. Heirloom Market crushes every dining option in and around Turner Field by itself." That distance might be off, but the barbecue spot is still pretty close.

There's also this comment on an AJC article up today: "Jiyeon and Cody are two of my favorite chefs. They have absolutely rocked Heirloom BBQ, with adventurous offerings that have clearly enticed the Braves to move north."

Leave thoughts and opinions in the comments. And head this way to find out some of the past and present players' favorite Atlanta restaurants.
