Top Chef lifer and The Spence/Flip/HD1's Richard Blais has left the South for sunny California, and now Eater San Diego has photos of what his forthcoming SoCal restaurant, Juniper & Ivy, will look like. It's going to have a central bar, a two-story wine wall, a glass-enclosed private dining room above the main dining room, an open kitchen, and a side patio for a total of 200 seats. See more images here.
The restaurateurs don't intend for Juniper & Ivy to be a special occasion restaurant but hope "it'll be a destination for adventurous palates seeking a serious dining experience combined with the energy of a great cocktail bar." Look for seafood crudo, meat, and vegan options plus a few of Blais's signature molecular touches when the restaurant opens as early as February 2014.
