Polaris, the UFO-like restaurant atop the Hyatt Regency Atlanta, is all set to open in the first quarter of 2014. Renovations are underway on the restaurant— complete with a revolving bar— on the 29th floor of the hotel. Says architect Bill Johnson of The Johnson Studio, "We weren't trying to make a museum, but at the same time, we're trying to preserve some of the retro parts that are still cool today." On Facebook, watch a video in which Johnson and partner Brian Finkel give insight into Polaris and the experience it'll bring Atlanta, starting with the elevator ride up.
