Atlanta restaurateur and Top Chef lifer Richard Blais and his family are likely leaving the city and headed to California. The chef put a bid on a house in the East Bay area, and trusted sources say that although he has no set plans to open a restaurant quite yet, he definitely wants to and has been in talks with a few potential partners.
In Atlanta, Blais has his hands in the Spence, Flip, and HD1, but since he isn't really a part of the day-to-day at any of them, business should carry on as normal. He's currently on tour for his cookbook, Try This at Home, in which he talks about how he learned to love Southern food, so let's hope he can get some solid pimento cheese and grits out West.
