Chef Hector Santiago, previously of the well-loved Pura Vida, Super Pan, and El Burro Pollo, is back on the scene. He'll be cooking one of four courses in a dinner at Joli Kobe Kitchen later this month and will be joined by Mihoko Obunai of the host restaurant, The Shed at Glenwood's Todd Richards, and Cooper Miller of Southbound Restaurant in Chamblee.
The event will kick off with a 6:30 p.m. cocktail reception on Tuesday, March 26; dinner will follow at 7 p.m. Each chef will take on one course: First, Obunai will prepare a plate of locally-sourced vegetables, then Richards will present a surf and turf dish. The third course is Miller's monkfish, and the meal ends with Santiago's Gum Creek pork. For dessert, a variety of petit fours. The dinner is priced at $50 a person plus tax and gratuity. The cost includes sake and souchu pairings, and a portion of the proceeds will benefit CARE, a global poverty-fighting organization that emphasizes women's empowerment. Reserve a spot by calling Joli Kobe Kitchen, (404) 843-3257.
