Atlanta chefs Steven Satterfield of Miller Union and Ryan Smith of Empire State South (and, soon, Staplehouse) are collaborating on a Southern family-style supper this Sunday, April 21. The Southern Food Tour dinner will be held at Dillwood Farms, which provides many area restaurants with produce, in Loganville, GA. Tickets are $125 per person and include charter transportation to and from the event, cocktails from Miller Union and ESS's bartenders, dinner with wine pairings, and dessert, as well as a tour of the farm.
Says Satterfield, "Ryan and I are excited to cook together at Dillwood Farms next Sunday. Seth Hancock, the new organic grower at Dillwood, has really revamped the farm and lots of good things are coming out of the ground right now. We are using everything that is available from the farm including herbs, greens, vegetables, and eggs from the chickens. Pastured chicken and spring lamb are being sourced by White Oak Pastures in Bluffton, GA. Some highlights from the menu: deviled eggs, a salad from the field, roasted spring lamb, fried chicken and chess pie. The Southern Food Tour was a great vehicle for us to put our ideas together and focus on Southern food, both traditional and non, using farm fresh ingredients."
