Angus Brown will be back at Octopus Bar on Thursday, April 18. He's been traveling and cooking across Asia since January, but he's making his return soon, which means it's time for some changes here in Atlanta. First up: Octopus Bar will be open six nights a week again instead of just four, as it was when he was gone— it's also of note that Brown will be back in the kitchen the same day that he flies back into town, jet lag be damned. He's currently working to cement the details and space for OCTOPUS Lusca, the planned lunch-to-late night spot he's doing with So Ba owner and O Bar partner Nhan Le.

Before Atlanta, though, the chef is doing a pop-up dinner at Osteria Divino in Sausalito, California on Monday, April 15. The 35-seat $100 prix fixe will include wine pairings by former Atlantan Heather Hawkins, now of San Francisco's Local Edition. Jon Sellitto, head butcher of Boston's Belly will be doing the charcuterie, and Le and Atlanta pastry chef Sarah Dodge are also cooking with Brown for the event. The meal will include fresh fish flown in from Tsukiji Market in Japan, local Northern California produce, ramps and morels from Georgia, and squab and sea urchin that Danny Bowien of Mission Chinese is tracking down for the chef. There will also probably be some cheese, as that and bourbon are the two things Brown has missed the most on his trip, aside from friends and family. If you happen to find yourself in the Bay Area, get more information and purchase tickets here.
