Cronuts in Atlanta: Order the Cake Hag's BrandiedPeach 'Doughssant' Right Now

Big news, y'all: Cronuts have come to Atlanta. That's right, Maggie Sweeney over at the Cake Hag made some for a special order after a customer learned about and requested her own version of the insanely popular doughnut-croissant hybrid pastry that originated at Dominique Ansel's Manhattan bakery. The Cake Hag's version has croissant dough, Madagascar vanilla bean pastry cream, and brandied peaches, because, she says, "this is Atlanta." Sweeney is calling her spin-off creation the "doughssant," since Ansel has "cronut" trademarked. The bakery does not have a retail space, but next batch of doughssants will be available on Tuesday; special order them by emailing info@cakehag.com. Read more on cronut mania right here.
