Behind the paywall at the AJC, a re-review of Serpas. Says Jenny Turknett, "In the food that Serpas calls 'approachable with an edge,' you'll see hints of Southwestern flavors from his time at Nava and Asian touches from Sia's." She lists some negatives, like a "teeth-achingly sweet lemon bombe," eggplant hushpuppies that are "somewhat mushy inside," and a crab fritter in which it may be difficult "to locate the crab," but all in all gives the Old Fourth Ward restaurant three out of five stars for its New Orleans-inspired cusine.
