The guys behind Steady Hand Pour House are all officially moved into the Bakery at Cakes & Ale, where they're now running the coffee program. The bakery's got some other cool things on the way, too: Lunchtime chef David Sweeney will be expanding the restaurant's offerings to include an evening menu of small plates and a larger lunch menu. That starts August 1.
New pastry chef David Garcia is still doing the baked goods, and beverage director Jordan Smelt will release a new wine and cocktail menu to go along with the evening dishes early next month. Cakes & Ale now also has a "larder and sundries area," where guests can purchase items like pickles, bread, Steady Hand coffee, brewing equipment and more, and the bakery now opens at 7 a.m. daily. If you head over soon, do let us know what you think.
