Let's catch up on PaulaDeenGate now that the long holiday weekend has come to an end. First, Paula Deen Magazine boldly came out in support of the television personality ("We support Paula Deen and you can too!"). Then, according to Bloomberg Business week, Paula Deen's career may not have happened if it weren't for 9/11— her agents allegedly told Food Network that "this country's scared... we need comfort in our lives" to put her on air.
Following all this and all of her lost endorsement deals, Deen dropped her long-time agent, Barry Weiner. And following that, a man was arrested after he attempted to extort Deen for $250,000. He threatened to go public with "true and damning statements" related to the lawsuit that started this whole thing in the first place. The man, a New York resident, has to appear in front of a federal magistrate judge in Savannah oh July 16.
