In May, Castellucci Hospitality Group— the team behind the Iberian Pig, Sugo, and Double Zero Napoletana— announced that it's opening its fourth restaurant early next year in West Midtown's Elan Westside building. The Basque-inspired restaurant now has a name, Cooks & Soldiers, and a five-course preview dinner with pairings will be held on Tuesday, September 17 at the Iberian Pig for people who want to sample the fare before the restaurant opens. The cost is $49 per person, and the event starts at 6:30 p.m.
Cooks & Soldiers draws inspiration from the cuisine of the Basque region in France and Spain. Its menu will have pintxos, tapas-like sharable plates, as well as larger portions, or raciones. The kitchen, helmed by current Iberian Pig chef de cuisine Landon Thompson, will sport a wood fire grill— expect dishes like whole grilled fish and chutelon, large grilled ribsteak— alongside a bar program offering French and Spanish wines, Basque ciders, craft beer, and classic cocktails. See the menu for the dinner and reserve a spot here.
