Need something to do this weekend? Head over to the Decatur Cemetery, where area restaurants have banded together to create a seven-course meal to benefit Decatur's Kitchen Garden. All proceeds will go to the organization, which has provide a place for more than 30 refugee families, many of whom have escaped persecution and violence in their home countries, to "grow healthy food and create economic opportunities."
Michael Gallagher of Brick Store and Leon's (and the forthcoming Kimball House) and Andy Gonzalez of Steinbeck's took the lead in putting together the event, which will have beer, wine, a specialty cocktail from Leon's, and live music. Participating restaurants include Brick Store Pub, Sawicki's, Leon's Full Service, Twain's, Farm Burger, Steinbeck's, Chai Pani, the Iberian Pig, No. 246, MAR, and Cakes & Ale.
