MIDTOWN— Now at One Midtown Kitchen, there's a Wine On dinner series. Each themed dinner includes a four-course meal paired with wine and new company for $50. First up is 'Singles Under 30' on Wednesday, February 12; see the full schedule here. [EaterWire]

SLOW FOOD— The Slow Food at the Table campaign kicks off on Saturday, February 1. It's a "call to inspire the local community to slow down and revive the deliberate practice of eating with others," and Atlantans who sit down to create and cook a meal with friends/family/strangers in February or March are eligible to win a dinner prepared by Asha Gomez and Steven Satterfield. Find out more here. [SFA]

WEST MIDTOWN— This week, Perennial Properties broke ground on a new mixed-use development on Howell Mill Road. The as-of-yet unnamed mid-rise building will be housed on the lot next to The Optimist and will have room for two large restaurants, both of which could incorporate outdoor seating. Do send intel through the tipline. [-CATL-]

It will reopen tomorrow evening for regular service as well as a special dinner with Master Baker Lionel Vatinet in honor of his new book, A Passion for Bread: Lessons from a Master Baker.
