The tavern chain will launch in Midtown a few days later than expected.

1) Midtown: World of Beer, the Tampa-based chain that is set to open its first Atlanta-area outpost in the Viewpoint condominium building at 855 Peachtree Street, will begin serving on Monday, October 13. The tavern was originally scheduled to launch on Wednesday, October 8. There's no word on reason for the delay.

When it does open, World of Beer will feature several local breweries on the beverage menu, including Burnt Hickory Brewery, Monday Night Brewing, Orpheus Brewing, Red Brick Brewing, SweetWater Brewing Co., Terrapin Beer Co., and Three Taverns Brewery.

World of Beer is also planning to open a Kennesaw location in the near future.

2) Avondale Estates: The Market in Avondale, from the owners of The Market in Oak Grove and aiming to serve the "same great meat, deli, and food," is delayed due to a denied building permit. Owner Nicole Turner told Decaturish a dispute arose over what was going into the former Thumbs Up Diner space at 10 North Clarendon Avenue:

"They contract out the architectural and engineering people who approve our plans, and they apparently don't know what they're doing, because they kept arguing with me about how it was going to be a restaurant, and I'm trying to explain that it's a grocery store," Turner said. "So they denied my plans."

The market was scheduled to open in September, but now Turner is hoping for mid-November.
