Grindhouse Killer Burgers, the local chain that offers several hamburger styles and build-your-own options, may be expanding to Decatur. The restaurant's PR confirmed to Eater Atlanta that it is hoping to open a location in the city.
While Grindhouse has not said exactly where it is looking, Assistant City Manager Lyn Menne told Decatur Metro the company is targeting a lot at 433 North McDonough Street. That would put it across from Decatur High School and within a few blocks of the heart of downtown, several other popular restaurants and bars, and the Decatur MARTA station. Right now, the space is a parking lot for school buses.
Grindhouse currently has its original stand in the Sweet Auburn Curb Market, plus locations in Piedmont Heights and Concourse D at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport. A fourth opened in Athens a little over a year ago. Owner Alex Broustein is also a partner in Villains, the Midtown sandwich shop that opened last year.
