Sister Louisa's Church Hoping to Open in Athens This Weekend

The bar just needs a thumbs up from the health department.

Grant Henry is hoping to have a soft opening for Sister Louisa's Church on Thursday night, and would like to fully open to the public on Friday. It's the second outpost for his Church bar, the first anchoring Atlanta's Edgewood Avenue entertainment district.

The news comes from a post on the bar's Facebook page. Henry has all the proper licensing in place, but the pre-opening health inspection has led to a few last-minute fixes, including some new tile and paint. This weekend's opening is still tentative because Henry is waiting on the final OK from the health department.

The new Church location is situated at 254 West Clayton Street near the Georgia Theatre.
