Villains Pop-Up; Food Network Star; Blais Cookbook

Mussels and fries are coming to Villains next month.

MIDTOWN — Villains is hosting The Frites Come Out at Night pop-ups on three Mondays next month. On November 10, 17, and 24, chef Andy Long will serve up bowls of mussels and fresh-cut fries, and Miller Union's Stuart White and Zachary Capito will pour New Orleans-inspired cocktails. Service will run from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., or until the food runs out, and the menu will vary slightly for each event. [EaterWire]

DOWNTOWN — Folks from Food Network will be in town on November 9 to hold open casting calls for Food Network Star. To participate, fill out an application and take a photo of yourself and a resume to W. Atlanta - Downtown. Casting will run from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. [EaterWire]

BLAISIN' — Top Chef lifer and Atlanta expat Richard Blais is working on his second cookbook. The man behind FLIP Burger and The Spence revealed to Gotham Magazinethat it will be based on his new TV show Hungry Games: "I'm in the process of writing my second cookbook. We're in the process of selling it. I'm really excited about that because it's going to be in the vein of Hungry Games. It's going to be something that hasn't really been done for a cookbook, so I'm excited about that." [Gotham]
