EAST ATLANTA — To celebrate its third birthday, Octopus Bar is hosting an open-to-the-public party this Saturday during the restaurant's regular late-night hours. Chef Duane Kulers will be serving special dishes from the kitchen and chef Angus Brown will be doing char-grilled oysters and grilled marinated tri tip. The festivities also include a band, DJ, fire breathers, the regular bar, and an outside bar with punch and cheap drinks. [EaterWire]

DUNWOODY — Vino Venue is hosting "Discover Spain," the last leg of its three-part international culinary series. The event will take place on Saturday, November 8, and will give patrons the opportunity to enjoy Spanish wines and cuisine, such as tapas and pintxos, cheeses, jamon, paella, ropa vieja, empanadas, flan, and more. Participants can attend from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. or 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. General admission tickets are $39 in advance and $50 at the door, include a Riedel XL 28-ounce wine glass and unlimited tastings, and are available online.  [EaterWire]

CANDLER PARK — Atlanta Lobster Festival will be held in Candler Park on Sunday, November 2, from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. The event will include live music, arts and crafts, light bites from a selection of the local restaurants, and a a variety of craft beer and wine.
