Nate Shuman, who left Proof and Provision in July to take over the cocktail program at Craft Izakaya, is returning to the restaurant/bar in The Georgian Terrace hotel. Tom McGuire, formerly of Prohibition, is moving up and will lead the bar at Craft Izakaya beginning November 8.
In addition to the change in management, Arianne Fielder is officially on board as a bartender at the Krog Street Market Japanese concept. Fielder was running the bar at Westside's Bellwoods Social House before parting ways earlier this month. Craft Izakaya general manager Richard Tang confirmed the moves Monday afternoon.
"There's no love lost or anything," Tang said in a phone conversation with Eater Atlanta. "Nate's a really good guy; he's just growing in his position back at Proof and Provision."
Fielder, who was picking up shifts at Craft Izakaya since leaving Bellwoods, is now in "a more permanent bartending position."
The beverage program will undergo some changes under McGuire, according to Tang, but its core — bubble tea cocktails, sake, and wine — will remain relatively unaffected. The bar will also shift to a winter-themed menu in the near future.
